Terms of Use

Effective November 2, 2026

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of Cresslist. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

Informational service only

Cresslist organizes available public records and reviewed business information to help users research home-service providers and documented work. Information may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, or associated with the wrong person, company, project, or property.

Cresslist does not recommend, rank for workmanship, endorse, employ, license, insure, or guarantee any provider. “Jobs on record” means jobs present in Cresslist’s system and may not represent a provider’s full work history.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for independently evaluating providers, confirming identity and current licensing, checking insurance and references, obtaining appropriate contracts and permits, and determining whether a provider is suitable for your project. Any engagement is solely between you and the provider.

Acceptable use

You may use Cresslist for lawful personal or business research. You may not interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, use automated means to extract substantial portions of the site without permission, impersonate another person, or submit information you know is false or unlawful.

Claims, corrections, and submissions

If you submit a claim, correction, or other material, you represent that you have authority to do so and that the information is accurate. You grant Cresslist permission to use, reproduce, edit, and display submitted material as needed to operate and improve the service. We may accept, reject, modify, or remove submissions at our discretion.

Intellectual property and third-party services

The site’s design, compilation, software, and original content are owned by or licensed to Cresslist and protected by applicable law. Public records remain subject to the rights and restrictions applicable at their source. Links, maps, imagery, and other third-party services are governed by their providers’ terms.

Disclaimer of warranties

Cresslist is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cresslist and its owners, affiliates, personnel, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, property damage, or disputes arising from site use, site information, or dealings with a provider.

Changes, suspension, and governing law

We may change these terms or modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. Continued use after revised terms are posted constitutes acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
