Cut the tank open, vacuum out all liquid and sludge for disposal, and clean the tank interior. Core the cleaned tank bottom and obtain a soil sample for laboratory analysis of Extractable Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (ETPH). If the laboratory analysis indicates an acceptable ETPH level (less than 500 ppm), the tank will be filled completely with an inert material (sand or stone) by others. Supply a report of site activity, including a sketch of the property and laboratory data.
